Senators re-sign G Mike Brodeur

05/26/2010 - Ottawa, ON (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Ottawa Senators re-signed goaltender Mike Brodeur to a one-year, two-way contract Wednesday.

Brodeur appeared in three games for Ottawa last season, his first time seeing action in the NHL. In those games he went 3-0 with a shutout, a 1.00 goals- against average and a .966 save percentage.

The 27-year-old spent most of his season with the Binghamton Senators, Ottawa's AHL affiliate. Over 36 games, he went 13-13-2 with a 3.06 GAA and .899 save percentage.

Brodeur was originally a seventh-round pick (211th overall) of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2003 draft.

Brandon Roy Favorite to Win 2007 NBA Rookie of the Year

Adam Morrison, of the Charlotte Bobcats, was the favorite early on in the season after averaging 15+ PPG through the first month of the season. Ever since his torrid start, Morrison’s point production has declined each month. This really isn’t surprising, considering at 6’8” he only weighs 205 lbs. Obviously he will need to hit the weights big time during the off-season in order to keep from breaking down in the future.
