Foltynewicz, the 19th overall pick in the draft earlier this month, is a right-handed pitcher from outside Chicago who went 9-1 with an earned run average of 0.38 and 128 strikeouts in 72 2/3 innings as a senior for Minooka Community High School.
The Astros have not yet signed Delino DeShields Jr., their first pick in the draft at No. 8 overall.
